"A Lost World"
A landscape from a time when prehistoric mammals roamed the earth. These massive mammals are now extinct however the landscape over the millions of years has somehow endured. It has changed and is still changing. it's history are in it's hills, shapes and colors.

"Moonrise over..."
I was hiking up a boulder strewn wash unto a large mesa top when I encountered this very large and forbidding looking formation. It seems to have a prehistoric animalistic look about it. The title is a little misleading as it was morning and the moon was setting, not rising. All in all a terrific experience.

The sun beats down, it is hot and dusty and it is roughly 50 miles on this lonely road before you reach a two lane blacktop road. A pause for lunch relaxing on a folding chair I try to always carry and experiencing the wonder of solitude. Just solitude.......

"Badwater"
On a recent trip to Death Valley we visited what is supposedly the lowest point in North America. The area is called Badwater and lies -282 feet below sea level. Named because the water is extremely salty and early settlers thought the name would be a warning to all.
